What NameByStars does
NameByStars helps families explore genuine names by language, origin, gender usage, cultural association, meaning, sound, style, and personal preferences. It also gives every canonical name a durable information page so a visitor can understand the record before using a personalized tool.
The recommendation tools are designed to narrow a real naming decision, not to replace it. A result can combine filters, documented name data, a deterministic scoring model, and optional spiritual frameworks selected by the user.
How recommendations work
The baby-name finder first respects practical preferences such as language, gender usage, culture, starting letter, ending, length, syllables, style, and meaning. When birth details are supplied, the model may add date numerology and, when selected and calculable, astrology naming-sound factors.
Each percentage is a score inside the NameByStars model. It is not a scientific probability and does not predict a child's character or future. The same validated input produces the same score; percentages are not randomized.
How meanings and origins are handled
The directory uses two visibly labeled research tiers. Curated records separate canonical spelling, native script, pronunciation, language, region, origin, meaning, etymology, variants, and related names. Reference records add broad multilingual spelling and locale coverage while keeping unsupported linguistic fields explicitly unverified.
We do not invent an etymology to make a page look complete. A reference record can still show documented usage, gender grouping, script, transliteration, variants, provenance, related browsing, and computed fields. When a meaning is disputed, character-dependent, multi-origin, or unknown, the page says so rather than presenting one interpretation as settled fact.
Astrology and numerology approach
Numerology results identify the model used, including Pythagorean or Chaldean mappings for Latin letters and script-specific Abjad or Gematria values when appropriate. Astrology uses packaged astronomical ephemeris data where available and withholds time-sensitive claims when an exact time and timezone cannot be established.
Religion, culture, astrology, and numerology are treated as separate dimensions. Choosing a cultural or religious naming tradition does not imply that the religion officially endorses a particular divination system.
Guidance, not a guarantee
Naming traditions can be meaningful parts of family and cultural life, but no name or calculation guarantees health, wealth, marriage, pregnancy, career success, or a particular personality. Results are best used as structured prompts alongside pronunciation, family context, legal spelling, and the child's future autonomy.
We welcome corrections to inaccurate meanings, scripts, pronunciations, and cultural framing. Submissions are reviewed for evidence and clarity before a canonical record is changed.
